About Olivia

Hi! I'm Olivia, a paper florist. I'm a creative at my core with an insatiable desire to make and when I do I'm filled with the greatest joy. My inspiration comes from the beauty that exists in nature. I use paper to translate the charm of flowers into blooms and bouquets that last.

I believe flowers can do so much more than look pretty. Whether for a wedding, a gift or home décor, the flowers I make are a carefully crafted piece of art, distinct and memorable with the ability to direct people's attention in a room and create an atmosphere.

I revel in originality. The bespoke nature of my work means I get to capture aspects of my client's character, beauty and story. All my work is custom-made to suit your vision. I take great pleasure in bringing your ideas into reality through distinct and original florals. From the start my priority is making sure we are on the same page and I work closely with you to make sure I'm creating something you will love.

At each stage of my work from designing to the process of creating, through to the final complete product I'm motivated by knowing that these paper flowers are going to bring joy to the person receiving them. This is at the core of my work. I love using my craftsmanship and artistic eye to bring people joy.

Quality and excellence are incredibly important to me. It takes a dextrous hand to form delicate and intricate blooms, I can often spend hours making one single flower. My flower designs are unique and finalised through practice and experimentation. Creating a flower for the first time is like inventing a recipe; I try out different paper types, petal shapes, paper manipulations, colours and techniques until I've found a design that creates the most beautiful (and time efficient!) flower.

The environmental impact of the cut-flower industry is huge. Fresh flowers are transported across countries in refrigerated trucks and often for an arrangement that will last just one day. Flowers are sprayed with pesticides that pollute the atmosphere and one in three stems is usually wasted!

Using paper means any wastage from creating flowers is recycled. I limit my materials as much as possible to paper, floral tape covered wire stems, and a bit of glue to hold it together. I package my flowers using recyclable or reusable materials, such as brown paper, tissue paper and bubble wrap. And of course, paper flowers don't require frequent replacement by new flowers. Kept out of direct sunlight and away from moisture my bouquets can last for years with little effort, perhaps a light dusting from time to time.

Paper flowers provide a sustainable option for brides and grooms with a planet-conscious outlook. Bridal bouquets are a lovely keepsake but there are many other opportunities to re-use your paper wedding flowers. Bridesmaid bouquets are a thoughtful gift to thank the women closest to you for their love and support. Table decorations can double up as wedding favours for guests and any floral arrangements can be used for both ceremony and reception decorations.

Olivia made me the most beautiful bridal bouquet. All the flowers are still so lifelike and stunning even months later! I love that I can keep it for as long as I like as a special reminder of my special day, but the best thing for me was being able to watch it come together piece by piece.

Among the stress of wedding planning, it was so exciting and grounding seeing her create something so beautiful for me. She was amazing throughout the whole process, partnering with me to create the best vision for my budget.

She complemented my bouquet with the cutest cake decorations and groom's boutonnière too. Really special.

Olivia's flowers are beautifully realistic, she has a natural talent for creating arrangements and understanding the vision you have for your bouquet.

The best part is you can continue to enjoy the flowers for years after they're made!

I ordered a gift for a couple celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

The couple was extremely pleased with the beautiful, elegant flowers which captured their favourite pastel colours. The attention to detail was immaculate and the flowers were packaged securely for safe postage.

I would definitely recommend Olivia Joy Flowers as a memorable gift for any special occasion
